Ryunohara Hatago is our 120-year-old farmstay, furnished lovingly with local natural materials, 4 comfy beds, and modern amenities. You’ll get to enjoy locally-grown produce, our homegrown tea and rice, and the company of our army of chickens.
Stargaze
This was photographed on a clear night at Ryunohara when the skies were clear. Our guests routinely spot shooting stars. Perhaps it’s your turn to spot some here?
The Hidakagawa flows just 130m (430ft) in front of the farmstay. It’s a perfect place to swim in the summer, and we have 2 paddle boards you may use for free.

Ryujinmura is a very big village, covering over 250 sq km. It takes almost 2 hours to drive from one end of the village to the other.
The nearest airport is Nanki-Shirahama International Airport, but most guests arrive at Kansai International Airport then take the train to the nearest train station, Kii-Tanabe Station. The train ride from Kansai International Airport to Kii-Tanabe Station takes about 2.5 hours.
Rental car
The Hatago has driveway parking for up to 5 cars, and the main house has parking space for up to 15 cars. Nearest highway exit: Arida IC. Nearest car rental: Toyota Rent-A-Car Kii Tanabe Station. Snow tyres and snow chains are a must from 15 December to 15 March. Set this as your destination on Google Maps: Ryunohara Hatago.
Complimentary shuttle from Kii-Tanabe Station

Please let us know 3 days before your arrival if you require this service. The vehicle is an 8-seater Toyota Voxy. If you are coming in a group of more than 4, we recommend you forward any large luggage by courier because it may not fit on the car.
